Russia is a new member of Hague System

6.03.2018

Dear colleagues and friends!

As of February 28, 2018, the Russian Federation can be designated in an international design application by the users of the Hague System.

The Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs allows registering industrial designs in multiple countries by filing one international application with a minimum of formalities and expenses. By means of a single international application, made in one language, on payment of a single set of fees, in one currency the applicant receives a bundle of national rights.
Currently there are 67 Contracting Parties in the Hague Agreement.

International registrations are made for an initial period of five years. They may be renewed for an additional period of five years. In respect of Russian Federation, the total duration of protection is 25 years.

An international application should be filed to the International Bureau of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) or to the National Office for Intellectual Property.

NEVA-PATENT attorneys provide full range of services related to the international registrations of industrial designs through the Hague system. The patenting fee is calculated individually depending on the number of countries in which legal protection is required.
